Samayapuram
Samayapuram is Famous for its temple dedicated to the Goddess Mariamman. Samayapuram Mariamman Temple is situated 20 kms away from north of Tiruchi. Samayapuram was a local capital of the Vijayanagar rulers in the vicinity of Tiruchirappalli, and was known as Vikramapuram. Mariamman is a form of Shakti worshipped in Tamilnadu, and is associated with prosperity and health. Local beliefs associate this deity with cures for diseases such as small pox and chicken pox. Persons affected by Chickenpox and Smallpox come to this place, stay here and pray the Goddess for speedy recovery. There is a separate rest hall for their stay in the temple. Car festival (April- May) and Flower festival/ Poochorithal (Feb-March) are very famous in this temple along with the festivals during Vaikasi.

Viralimalai
Viralimalai is 30 kms away from Tiruchy. It is famous for its Murugan temple and the Peacock sanctuary. Murugan temple is situated on a hillock. The town is bestowed with a large number of wild peacocks, which roam around the Murugan temple.

Elakurichi
Elakurichi is 65-km from Trichy; a place is famous for the old church built by the renowned Catholic missionary, Constantine Joseph Beschi, popularly known as "Veeramamunivar". Moreover, the famous temple of Vishnu located here and known as Prasanna Venkateswarar.

Kodumbalur (42 km)
This place is also known as Moovarkoil (36m from Pudukkottai).Out of the three shrines here, only two exist now. It was formerly the seat of the Irukkuvelar. These temples were built by Boodhi Vikramakesari in the 10th century A.D. with sculptures of Kalarimurthi, Gajasamharamurthi, Ardhanariswara, Gangadaramurthi, etc,.which are masterpieces of art. Nearby is the Muchukumdeswarar temple of the Early Chola period.
