The first workshop " ROAD SHOW ON INTERNET " was organized on 17.06.98 for the members of IUCT and also public drew tremendous response. The Presentation was made by Mr. Shrinivas of Plans Proposal Projects, Chennai and live demo by the office bearers of IUCT.
" YOU AND THE INTERNET " a seminar organised on 5.07.98 was inaugurated by Dr. P. Jagadeesan, vice - chancellor, Bharathidasan University, Trichy. The Highlights of the seminar were : i General Internet Awareness and the basic facilities necessary for Internet connection, ii Exchange of Information through e-mail, FTP and WWW, iii Software and Hardware requirements, the Special adaptability of the internet to business men, doctors, lawyers, artists, students and teachers etc.
In continuation a " General awareness on Internet " was conducted at Jamal Mohammed College, Trichy, on August 30 th especially for students, with Demo on Electronic mail, creation of new websites, web browsing followed by an interaction session.
